Humagne Blanche harvest at Crêtet du Merle on 11 October 2024.
Humagne Blanche is a very old white grape variety native to the Valais. It is found nowhere else. The wine produced from this variety has subtle, delicate aromas. It is the only white wine to contain tannins. This makes it an unrivalled wine for laying down, whose aromas change pleasantly over the years. Legend says that it contains iron and is therefore called the wine of childbirth. It was customary to offer a bottle of Humagne Blanche to women who had just given birth.
